The Thin Green Line

THE THIN GREEN LINE

In 1974, war broke out in Cyprus between Turkish and Greek forces. After months of conflict, the island was divided in two by a 10 km wide demilitarized zone, its cities abandoned, its’ homes emptied. What was once nicknamed The Green Line has become just that. With many areas untouched by human interference, flora and fauna have begun to flourish. 50 years later, two ecologists resolve to enter and study this no-man’s land.

“The Thin Green Line takes you into Cyprus’s no-man’s land - a buffer zone untouched by humans for 50 years.

Two ecologists step into this divided territory to uncover how nature has reclaimed the space after decades of conflict.

It’s very interesting how nature reacts when left to its own devices.” - WaterBear
